CPNP – Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program

Through the Canada Prenatal Nutrition Program, we serve pregnant women who are at risk of having low birth-weight babies due to poverty, abuse, addictions, isolation or adolescence. We serve a diverse population with many cultural values and beliefs about pregnancy, childbirth, nutrition and infant care using a multi-disciplinary team of professionals from Pathways, York Region Health Services and Rose of Sharon Services for Young Mothers.

Known locally as, the ABC All Babies Count program, our CPNP prenatal nutrition program ensures that all pregnant women have information about how good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle can help their growing fetus. The program also ensures that participants have access to nutritious food at least once per week. Women find out how to have a healthy pregnancy, enjoy cooking and get advice during the first stages of their babies’ lives.
