Youth
- Outgoing, positive and energetic
- Experience working with at-risk and homeless youth
- Ability to be an active role-model for youth and establish clear boundaries
- Flexible and comfortable engaging teens in an unstructured environment
- Be an active listener and communicate with staff regarding what is going on at the centre
- Develop a rapport with the youth and familiarize yourself with centre procedures
- Help with programming or special activities going on at the centre
- Cooking
- Develop rapport with youth
- Feel comfortable in a full service kitchen
- Promote healthy and safe practices in the kitchen
- Plan cooking lessons that include nutritious meals
- Encourage youth to assist with food preparation/cooking
- Discuss nutrition and healthy eating with youth
- Update grocery list and communicate needs with staff
Special Events
- Help plan and organize day trips
- Accompany youth and staff on trips/events
Weight-Training/Gym

Handy Man/Person
- Help with general small maintenance jobs at the centre – carpentry, drywall and painting
- Flexible time schedule
Time Commitment: 3 hours per week Duties: Wash toys and shelves at one of eight sites weekly.

Program Assistant Time Commitment: 3 hours per week Require experience working with young children (birth to 6 years) Duties:

Toy Washer
Santa
Time Commitment: 8 hours during December
Duties:
- Dress in Santa suit (provided) and attend holiday parties at the locations listed above
- Let children sit on your lap and hand out presents
